The ranks of Timothy Christian School Alumni include doctors, lawyers, astronauts, politicians, stockbrokers, and professional athletes. On Saturday, November 22nd, Timothy Christian School added a Rhodes Scholar to its prestigious list of alumni. Ruth Fong was selected along with 31 other college seniors to receive a Rhodes Scholarship from a pool of 15oo United States applicants. The Rhodes Scholarship is arguably the most prestigious award a college graduate can receive. The Rhodes Trust selects highly qualified and uniquely motivated individuals to receive an all expense paid graduate education at Oxford University in England.
Ruth Fong was a well-rounded student while at Timothy Christian School. Ruth captained the varsity volleyball team, captained the debate team, and was crucial in the establishing of the robotics team. Ruth graduated from Timothy Christian School in 2011 as valedictorian and accepted a scholarship from Apple to attend Harvard University majoring in computer science.
