Coach Bills Hall of Fame300x300The stories of Coach William Bills’ commitment to building a competitive athletic department have now become legendary. Building soccer goals out of lumber that he purchased himself, changing gymnasium lights on make-shift ladders, and teaching himself to drive a bus so TCS’ teams could have transportation were all ‘part of the job’ in the 70’s and 80’s. Along the way, Coach Bills actually coached a little bit too; just enough games to win 1000 of them on the varsity level.

On Sunday afternoon, Coach Bills’ took his place amongst New Jersey’s legendary coaches as he was inducted into the NJSIAA / NJSCA Hall of Fame at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet in Edison, NJ. A plaque with Coach Bills’ name and accomplishments will be hung in the NJSIAA Hall of Fame room at NJSIAA headquarters in Robbinsville, NJ. Coach Bills’ can still be found in his usual place; the athletic building and fields on the backside of TCS’ Piscataway campus. It’s fitting though that you can also find him in the hall of fame.
