DECA Club
DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America, is a nonprofit organization designed to equip high school students with practical business and entrepreneurial skills. Founded in 1946, DECA integrates classroom learning with real-world experiences, allowing students to apply knowledge in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through leadership, competitions, and hands-on learning.
Activities and Opportunities
High school DECA members participate in a variety of competitive events, including role-plays, prepared presentations, and online challenges that test creativity, problem-solving, and business knowledge. Students also engage in leadership development, community service, and professional development programs, which help them build skills in communication, collaboration, and ethical decision-making. DECA chapters often organize projects that allow students to implement strategies, manage events, and gain practical experience in business scenarios.
Benefits of Joining
Membership in DECA provides opportunities for scholarships, recognition, and travel to conferences and competitions. Students can network with peers, mentors, and business professionals, gaining insights into career paths and industry trends. DECA also helps students develop confidence, leadership abilities, and a professional mindset that can benefit them in college and future careers.
Students interested in joining DECA should contact Miss Ferreri at lferreri@timothychristian.org.
