On Friday, April 11th, TCS came alive with color, culture, and community as we celebrated International Day—a vibrant tradition that honors the diverse heritages represented in our school family. From the joyful sounds of music and dance to the rich aromas of global cuisine, the entire day was a powerful reminder of the beauty found in God’s creativity and the unity we share in Christ.

During the day, students proudly wore traditional attire, representing countries from every corner of the globe. Flags waved in classrooms and hallways as students shared about their heritage and learned about one another’s backgrounds. But the celebration didn’t stop there.

That evening, our community gathered for International Night, where families brought homemade dishes from their countries to share. The gym was filled with the delicious smells of food from places like Egypt, India, El Salvador, Ireland, Peru, China, Ecuador, and more. The night also featured music, dance, and cultural presentations, each one offering a window into the unique traditions and values of our TCS families.

Senior Sarah Marronilla reflected on the impact of the evening, saying:

“International Day is important to me because it celebrates the different cultures and ethnicities God has blessed us with, while also honoring the unity we share as brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s not just about being proud of our own cultures; it’s about being proud of each other’s as well.”

Perhaps the most heartwarming moment of the night came when students, parents, and teachers joined together to turn the gym into a dance floor.

“What I loved most about this year’s International Night,” Sarah shared, “was how so many people joyfully got up to dance to each other’s cultural music. Friends were inviting friends to join in, and even those who were shy at first ended up laughing and dancing together.”

International Day is more than just a school event, it’s a living expression of Revelation 7:9, a glimpse of “every nation, tribe, people and language” worshiping and celebrating together. It reminds us that in God’s kingdom, diversity is a gift, and unity is possible because of Christ.

At TCS, we are grateful for a school community that reflects the beauty of God’s global family. International Day gives us the chance to pause, appreciate, and joyfully celebrate the cultures God has brought together here and to look forward to the day when we will all gather before the throne, united in praise.
