As we seek to disciple our students for Christ, each year has a special focus from God’s Word. Students are encouraged to memorize the verses and live them out. The theme is weaved into Chapels, discipleship groups, and classrooms throughout the year.
In the Elementary School, the theme this year is “All Heart!”
Our verses: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
The elementary halls are filled with bulletin boards that proclaim the message!
Students will continually be encouraged by their teachers and chapel speakers throughout the year to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others.
“By putting God first and keeping our eyes on Him He will fill us with His peace, love & joy!
Our mission this year will be to Love God and Love Others,” says Mrs. McInerney.
In the MS & HS, the theme is “In the world but not of the world.”
Our verses:
“My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” John 17:15-16
“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Our world system with all its values wants to define for us what is right and wrong, what is acceptable and unacceptable, what is normal and what is not normal. It wants to press us into its mold of how to think. This is not what we are called to as Christians. Christ tells us we are not be like the world. We are in the world to be a light to the world by renewing our minds through God’s Word. Rather than conforming to the culture, we are called to be culture changers!
Miss McKay requests all to “Please be praying with me for tremendous spiritual awakening among our young people to want to live for Christ in a culture where the norms and the pressure to conform to them are far from Him.”
