This spring, Timothy Christian School elementary students had the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom through several exciting and educational field trips. From exploring wildlife and world-renowned art to experiencing hands-on exhibits and performing in a historic concert hall, our students created lasting memories while growing academically, creatively, and spiritually.

2nd Grade Visits Turtle Back Zoo

On April 21, our 2nd grade students traveled to Turtle Back Zoo for a day filled with exploration and discovery. Students enjoyed seeing animals from around the world while learning about habitats, conservation, and the importance of caring for God’s creation. The trip provided a fun and interactive extension of their classroom learning and gave students the opportunity to experience science in a hands-on way. We asked a few second graders what their favorite part of the field trip was. Jerusha and Arya said that their favorite part was getting to touch the stingrays and all of their classmates unanimously agreed!

5th Grade Explores the Metropolitan Museum of Art

On May 7, the 5th grade class traveled to New York City to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Students explored incredible works of art from various cultures and time periods while learning more about history, creativity, and artistic expression. From ancient artifacts to famous paintings and sculptures, students were inspired by the beauty and craftsmanship displayed throughout the museum. One 5th grader, Sammy Arias, commented that he liked seeing Emanuel Leutze’s Washington Crossing the Delaware (1851) painting. Many made sure to share that they particularly enjoyed the food and the gift shop.

Our K4 students enjoyed an exciting adventure to the Wonder Wing Museum on May 14. The students explored interactive exhibits, engaged in imaginative play, and participated in hands-on learning experiences designed especially for young learners. The trip encouraged curiosity, creativity, and joyful discovery as students explored the museum together. The K4 students enthusiastically shared that their favorite parts were finding dinosaur bones and playing on the playground!

Link Up Honors Program Performs at Carnegie Hall

On May 18, students participating in the Link Up Honors Program traveled to New York City for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Carnegie Hall. Students joined other young musicians in a special performance as part of the nationally recognized Link Up program. Performing in one of the world’s most famous concert venues was an unforgettable experience and a wonderful celebration of the students’ hard work and musical growth throughout the year. The students saw several performances on stage by professionals as well. 4th grader Jillian stated that her favorite song was “Ode to Joy” by Ludwig van Beethoven, while Evie enjoyed hearing “Oye” by Jim Papoulis and watching the dancers perform!

We are thankful for the opportunities our students have to learn through experiences both inside and outside the classroom. These spring field trips provided meaningful moments of discovery, creativity, and fellowship that our students will remember for years to come.
