We are excited to welcome Mr. Kyle Mariano to the Timothy Christian School community as our new boys’ Physical Education teacher! Mr. Mariano holds a B.A. in Sports Management from Pfeiffer University, where he also helped launch the men’s volleyball program and assisted his team in winning two NCAA DI-DII conference championships. He went on to earn a Ministerial Studies Diploma from the New Jersey District School of Ministry while working full time. Before joining TCS, Mr. Mariano spent eight years at the University of Valley Forge, where he founded and coached the men’s volleyball program and served in a variety of roles supporting the school’s athletic and facility operations. While there, he also was named the 2022 CSAC (Colonial States Athletic Conference) Coach of the Year. His diverse background includes experience in education, coaching, sales, and ministry—all of which have shaped his passion for teaching Physical Education and Health and inspiring students and athletes to grow both in skill and character. This year, Mr. Mariano, his wife, and two children moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey to bring his coaching experience to TCS. He will assist our girls’ volleyball team and launch our new high school boys’ volleyball program in the spring.
Below Mr. Mariano shares with us more about why he desires to be teaching and coaching at TCS.
What/Who inspired you to take up teaching?
To be able to serve and make an impact on the younger generation has been a goal of mine as far as I can remember. Also, I desire that young people can become disciples of Jesus Christ and learn to follow Him and to have a relationship with Him.
Why did you choose to teach at TCS?
I want to be at a Christian school, serving the Lord and serving students as God ultimately does His work in and among us for His glory.
What do you love most about TCS?
I love the community that TCS has, as well as the biblical Christian teachings, and I also love athletics here at TCS.
What is one word that best describes the school? Why?
Consecrated, because I think that TCS is set apart in a good way, for the glory of God.

How are faith and learning integrated at TCS?
Discipleship groups take place a couple times a month with teachers and students so that can be one way faith and learning are integrated but more specifically I’d say the biblical truths that each teacher will share while teaching their subject matters to the students in class. I also think that having chapel together, hearing the Word and participating in worship unto the Lord together is a blessing and can help all of us at the school grow not only academically together but also spiritually.
In what ways are you preparing students for life beyond TCS?
Whether in coaching or in PE class, I desire that the students know there is a God who cares for them and is their Good Shepherd, and I desire that they never lose their faith in the One who truly loves and died for them. I try to demonstrate that care through coaching and through gym class, serving them in those ways, but also trying to impart to them the importance of having fun, working hard, using teamwork and having a good attitude.
What would you tell families to encourage them to send their children to TCS?
It is such a good opportunity to grow in a Christ-centered environment along with other like-minded peers while having quality Christian staff and faculty who care about the students. With Christ as your foundation, and with God at the center, we know that nothing is impossible. But with all the possibilities, where does one start? TCS is a great place to explore gifts, talents, and academic and/or athletic strengths for your child.
