We are so excited to have Trinity Tinsley teaching at TCS again! She came to us as a parent in 2020 and then became one of our Kindergarten teachers for two years before going on maternity leave. Prior to teaching at Timothy Mrs. Tinsley taught Prekindergarten for seven years in Texas and was an online ESL teacher for students in China for four years. With many years of teaching experience under her belt we’re excited to have her back with us as one of our first grade teachers this year! Let’s hear from Mrs. Tinsley about what inspires her and why she loves TCS!

What/Who inspired you to take up teaching?

I always knew I wanted to work with children in some capacity pretty early in life. There have been many people who have influenced my decision to become a teacher. A few that come to mind are my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Tabron, who made learning fun, my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Hugley, who celebrated our differences and challenged me to think outside the box, and Mrs. Spriggs poured her heart into the students that came through her classroom. These women showed me that teaching and teachers can have such an impact, that it could change the trajectory of your life in the most amazing ways. I want to be a person who inspires students to strive for their dreams the way these women did for me.

Why did you choose to teach at TCS?

When looking for a place for our son’s first time in school, my husband and I wanted to ensure that he was being educated from a biblical perspective that encouraged him to embrace a biblical worldview holistically. It was important that our beliefs and values were reinforced in the classroom, so that our son would not only have a strong educational foundation but also a strong biblical foundation.  When the opportunity presented itself for me to be able to work at TCS, I couldn’t say no. To be able to teach at a place where I can utilize my passion for teaching and love for Jesus is truly priceless.

What do you love most about TCS?

What I love most about Timothy is the community and fellowship. From Preview Day, to Meet the Teacher, to the first day of school, until now, our family has been welcomed with open arms. Everyone is always genuinely friendly and caring. You feel like family when you are at Timothy.

What is one word that best describes the school? Why?

Christ-centered is the word that comes to mind when I think of Timothy. Everything Timothy does exudes biblical values and the love of Christ. I believe Timothy excels because of this. It radiates through the faculty, staff, and students.

How are faith and learning integrated at TCS?

God is at the center of everything that I do. Teaching the Bible is not just confined to my Bible lessons. I try to bring focus to God’s majesty through math, reading, science, and social studies. God’s creation and wisdom are highlighted throughout our lessons and across subject areas, helping my students to draw nearer to God.

In what ways are you preparing students for life beyond TCS?

I strive to push and challenge students to expand their thinking. There are many outlets where students can tap into their creativity, exposing them to information that they may encounter throughout their educational journey, so they will have a great foundation to be successful in life.

What would you tell families to encourage them to send their children to TCS?

If you are looking for a Christ-centered community, Timothy is the place for you. Timothy truly exemplifies the scriptures in Matthew 22:37-39, where Jesus says, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Everything Timothy does is done in love with Christ being the focus.

Anything else you would like to share about your experience at TCS thus far?

It is truly a blessing to be able to work in an environment that you love, where people are genuinely pleasant, caring, and are praying for you. I am grateful to be here at TCS!
