Meet Pam Foerst, our new TCS Admissions Coordinator! Pam has worked in retail banking as a manager, office and business management, human resources, bookkeeping and as an executive administrative assistant. All of her experience in these roles, plus her warm and bubbly personality, make her a great fit for the Advancement Team!
Our previous admissions coordinator Ella Mendalski will be dearly missed as she moves on to focus solely on her business, Timbrel Natural Health. Ella has worked with Pam to train her and share her twelve years of TCS admissions knowledge. Pam has been with us in Admissions since July 1st but is familiar with TCS as her daughter is our current 6th grade English teacher. Let’s hear from Pam why she is so excited to play a key role in helping new students join the TCS family!
What/Who inspired you to be in your current profession?
I feel called to support positions where I organize and facilitate action for the greater good of the company, organization, or ministry I work for. My heart’s desire since I was a small child has been to be in ministry as my vocation. With my administrative gifts I work well behind the scenes, helping make things happen. God has shown me these gifts through what makes me excited. I actually get excited about paperwork! I also love interacting with people and love to give encouragement in any way I can. I have prayed for many years for God to send me to a place where my particular gifts are needed and Timothy Christian is that place! I admire business administrators, administrative assistants, bookkeepers, receptionist as they are what I call the unseen backbone of things. These roles keep things on track, organized and the mission moving forward for God’s glory and to lead people to Him.
Why did you choose to work at TCS?
TCS provides a Biblically based education and fosters discipleship of the students, faculty and staff. The mission of TCS and its foundational beliefs are in line with mine. I love children of all ages and have always wanted to work at a school. Schools feel alive and exciting, and every day is different in its own way. I also felt a nudge from God and my daughter Hope Edwards who is currently a teacher at TCS. Once I reviewed the job post and began exploring the position I felt the Holy Spirit stir my soul and bring an excitement and desire to be here in some way.
How does your role impact students at TCS?
I am one of the first contacts with prospective parents and their families. I represent what TCS stands for and does. I facilitate families in their quest for what is best for their children. My position helps them navigate the process of making a life impacting decision educationally as well as spiritually. I also get to see the children daily as I conduct tours of the campus and its classrooms. I am in the halls and classrooms and lunchroom daily. I too love Jesus and can articulate this through loving interaction with everyone at TCS.
What do you love most about TCS?
The fact that the entire staff has a personal relationship with Jesus and has a common focus of serving Him and His people in whatever gifts God has given them, from administration, to teaching, to preparing lunches, to keeping the grounds in working order and beautiful, to providing the medical help and support of a nurse to participating in sports.
What is one word that best describes the school? Why?
ALIVE. It is evident that the Holy Spirit is here. You can feel the peace, love, warmth, joy and excitement as soon as you drive into the parking lot. The buildings are full of people seeking to know and serve God better and to educate so we can bring this all into the world.
How does your faith influence your role at TCS?
My faith in Christ and my life experiences walking with Jesus give real stories of how God is real, alive and loves us. This all helps in every role and task I embark on at TCS.
What would you tell families to encourage them to send their children to TCS?
It is hard to find a place like TCS that is diverse culturally, denominationally, and is loving and focused on education as well as spiritual growth.
