It has been a music-filled spring here at Timothy Christian School! From energetic performances by our youngest students to award-winning competition pieces by our middle and high school ensembles, the past few weeks have been a beautiful reminder of how God blesses and uses the musical gifts of our students.
Elementary Spring Concert
On Friday, May 16, our elementary students lit up the stage during our annual Elementary Spring Concert. Families and friends packed the gymnasium to enjoy a night of music, storytelling, and celebration.
Under the direction of Ms. Brookman, students sang, acted, and brought the stage to life with enthusiasm and heart. The audience was treated to a fun surprise when Mrs. McInerney, along with 5th grade teachers Mrs. Jankowsky and Mrs. Delmanto, made special guest appearances during the show!
Our Link Up Honors students in our Carnegie Hall music program, led by Ms. Simmons, performed beautifully, showcasing their hard work and musical growth. The 5th grade band, under the direction of Mrs. Colonnello, also delivered a strong performance, demonstrating how far they’ve come this year.
We’re so grateful for our dedicated TCS music department who pour their hearts into helping our students develop and share their talents. This concert was a testament to the creativity, commitment, and joy that music brings to our school.
Music in the Parks Competition
On Saturday, April 26, our middle school and high school bands and choirs traveled to Six Flags for the Music in the Parks competition and came home with outstanding results.
-Middle School Band: 1st Place with an Excellent Rating
-High School Band: 1st Place with a Superior Rating
-Both Choirs received Excellent Ratings
-Sofia Morales was named Overall Best Vocalist among all choirs
Sofia’s moving solo stood out among a competitive field of vocalists from many schools, earning her the top vocal honor of the day. (Click here to listen to a clip of her singing in Bible class.)
This incredible performance at Music in the Parks speaks not only to the talent of our students, but also to the dedication of our music faculty who guide them with excellence and purpose. You won’t want to miss our middle school and high school band and choir perform at this year’s Spring Concert on Tuesday, June 3rd!
From concert halls to competition stages, our students continue to shine, using their voices and instruments to glorify God and bless others. Congratulations to all our performers, and thank you to the teachers, families, and supporters who make the sounds of music at TCS possible.
