We had 14 amazing alumni* speak at Alumni Career Day on February 28th!

When they arrived on campus, they met with our TCS Leadership team who shared the highlights of what has been happening recently. Ms. McKay talked about some of the ways that TCS has changed and some aspects of the school that have stayed the same. The alumni were encouraged to hear that the same Biblical education they received at TCS remains the same today.

Next the alumni were led to the gym for a high school assembly where they shared impactful advice and wisdom with the whole group of high school students.

Here are a few pieces of advice they shared:

In your young years, do not chase money. Instead gain experience, perspective, and skills.

The thing you do next is not necessarily what you will do forever.

You can navigate life without God. But why would you want to?

God has a mission, and He will not fail. Align yourself with God and you will not fail.

Do not compare yourself to others. Your time will come.

If you focus on the journey, the destination will take care of itself.

Do all for the glory of God. Otherwise, it is not worth doing.

During the afternoon sessions each alum shared with a small group of students more about their careers and the journey they took to get there.

Mr. Barr later shared his take on the day as he taught some of the alumni who came back. “From a teacher’s perspective, it gives me new enthusiasm and reignites my ability to focus on my job, because I remember some of the faces who were here and to see them now be not just successful, but outstanding communicators as well and how much they’ve grown is encouraging for me. Also, for the students who are not taking school seriously right now, for about two hours it makes them very sober minded because suddenly it transports them forward in time and with their imagination, they can try to see themselves and where they might be in 8 years. This is a unique event that gets them to think about where they are going to be in the future. I thought it was very successful.”

TCS junior Sam Stuhl, was impressed by the nature of one of the speakers and wanted to connect with him further. “He gave a very realistic viewpoint on the business world. His presentation wasn’t just specifically about his experience, he also geared it towards us. His experience in tech was when the internet just came out and he talked about how AI is similar to his situation and how we should get into that field. His experience of being a part of many businesses was very helpful for me to know he was a credible source, and I could trust him. He is in the field that I want to go into, so I thought it could be a good opportunity to connect with him!”

We are so thankful for these alumni who took time out of their day today to speak to our students! Thank you to all who helped make this day possible! This is one of our favorite days on campus and we are already looking forward to Alumni Career Day 2027!
