We had an incredible day at the TCS middle school and high school Spiritual Life Conference on Friday, February 7th! The theme “ECHO: Every Choice Honors One” from Philippians 3:10 challenged our students to know Christ, pursue Christ, and please Christ in their daily lives.
Here are some of this year’s conference highlights:
-
-
Pastor Tim Lucas, from Liquid Church, delivered a powerful keynote on the Prodigal Son, offering a fresh and fun perspective on God’s lavish love and grace—illustrated by TCS staff handing out Krispy Kreme donuts! Students experienced firsthand how the Father’s love is extravagant and how the elder brother’s reaction reminds us to reflect on grace in our own lives.
- Pastor Lionel King, from Christ Church, inspired students with his message on “My Don’t Do Anything Crazy Crew” and “Keep Going”—encouraging them to surround themselves with godly community and to keep pressing forward in their faith. Through Philippians 3:10, he reinforced the importance of knowing Christ, pursuing Christ, and pleasing Christ.
Worship & Breakout Sessions – The worship team set the atmosphere for an amazing day, and students engaged deeply in breakout sessions tailored to their needs. From topics like Identity in Christ, Guarding Your Heart, Overcoming Temptation, and Spiritual Growth, our middle and high School students were equipped with biblical truths to navigate their faith journeys.
- Commitments & Renewals – Many students responded to God’s call, committing their lives to Christ and renewing their desire to ECHO His glory. We praise God for the work He is doing in their hearts!
-
Dean Rodriguez shared with parents some next steps to continue to “ECHO” beyond the conference.
-
-
- Engage in a Faith Community – Encourage your student to stay connected with a small group, youth ministry, or accountability partners to build lasting, godly friendships.
- Commit to Daily Spiritual Growth – Set a goal for daily Bible reading, prayer, and journaling to keep their walk with Christ intentional and strong.
- Live Out the Message – Challenge your student to make daily choices that honor Christ, whether at school, home, or with friends—letting their life ECHO His love and grace.
-
The students completed a survey to share feedback from the day! Here is what some students shared about their experience:
-
- “The breakout session I went to was Identity in Christ, and the lesson that impacted me the most was ‘you can spread kind words anywhere, anytime, and to anyone.’
- “God gave me the confidence to hold my hands up high in surrender and worship to Him during the singing and praise in SLC. In past years, I was never confident enough to do this.”
- “I loved singing with everyone worshiping our Lord and Savior. Being together made it great.”
We are thankful to everyone who was involved in making this year’s conference such a meaningful experience. We pray our middle school and high school students continue to ECHO God’s glory in their homes, schools, and communities!
