Nathalie Mvondo is in her second-year teaching French at TCS and in her third year as a parent. She has a degree in German-Spanish and French translation from the University of Mainz in Germany and a master’s degree in French-English translation from Kent State University in Ohio. Her children are going into first, sixth, and ninth grade this year. We are blessed to have the Mvondo family as a part of our TCS family!

What/Who inspired you to take up teaching?

I wanted to break the stereotype that Americans are monolingual. I want to help my students discover the hidden abilities and talents they have and don’t even know about by learning another language. I am convinced that this will give them new perspectives, and it will open so many doors for them and give them opportunities that can change their lives in the most incredible way.

Why did you choose to teach at TCS?

My kids go to TCS and I am glad to contribute to the greatness of my kids’ school. I also take this teaching opportunity as a ministry through which I can impart God’s principles and values to my students in my classroom.

What do you love most about TCS?

I love the people and the fact that my children are receiving solid college preparation in a godly environment.

What is one word that best describes the school? Why?

Heaven, because we have people from all colors, backgrounds, and origins that are seeking the same thing: a godly education. In heaven, all nations will gather before the throne of God to spend eternity with Him. God is the center of all things at TCS.

How are faith and learning integrated at TCS?

Faith is part of the curriculum at TCS. God is included in school material at all levels, and we acknowledge him as the Creator of all things and the source of all knowledge.

In what ways are you preparing students for life beyond TCS?

I prepare students for life beyond TCS by leading by example in my interactions with them. I believe that we influence children better through our behavior and actions.

What would you tell families to encourage them to send their children to TCS?

I would tell them that although most of the spiritual work has to be done at home, TCS is a great place to support and reinforce what they are already teaching their children at home when it comes to God and who He is to us as His children. Also, the education their children will receive at TCS will prepare them in a great way to reach the highest spheres of any area they choose in this world and be the godly leaders our world is desperately needs.

The Mvondo family is from Cameroon. They were in their home country for 6 weeks this summer. They visited family and the kids were able to speak French every day with all of their family members!
