TCS Field Day brings fond memories of colorful t-shirts, fun games, and being outside in the warm June sun. This year, thanks to some wonderful parents, field day returned!

On June 6th, we hosted a field day for the upper elementary school. The 3rd through 5th graders were divided into eight teams of white, purple, dark blue, light blue, green, red, orange, and yellow.

Lead parents planned, organized, and ran a great field day with the help of teachers and a team of parent volunteers. Each parent manned a station, and each teacher was the leader of a different color group.

There were a variety of games included this year. There were different types of running races. There was a jumping contest where everyone on the team’s jumps were combined to see which team had the longest jump. There was an obstacle course, a water cup relay, a sponge and bucket relay, and more.

Miss Victoria Vega, substitute teacher and TCS alumna from the class of 2022, came to help.

“My team was the purple team. We were the only team of all girls. At first, we weren’t sure if we could do it, but we ended up winning the tug of war contest and coming in 3rd place overall. I am so proud of the girls for their positive attitudes!”

This year the purple team came in 3rd place, the dark blue team came in 2nd place, and the white team came in 1st.

At the end of the day there was cake to celebrate everyone’s participation in the field day activities! Thank you to the PTF for planning and facilitating this event and for all the parent volunteers and teachers who helped make field day fun!
