On Monday, January 9 Timothy Christian School honored Law Enforcement! Thirty-seven police cars with 45 personnel representing 19 different departments* made their way through our Law Enforcement Appreciation Breakfast Drive-thru. This is one of our favorite events of the year! We love the chance to bless our local law enforcement who are always so very appreciative! The drive-thru breakfast honoring our local law enforcement officers was a big hit with the officers and our students! God gave us a beautiful morning of dry weather and sunshine in January! Our Cheerleaders and mascot, Timothy the Tiger, greeted the officers as they drove through. Many elementary classes came out to cheer, deliver hand-made cards, and thank the officers. The kids loved the lights, sirens, and opportunity to sit in a police car! Chick-fil-A of South Plainfield generously provided breakfast sandwiches and sent representatives who joined us in serving the officers! In addition to breakfast, first time visitors received a special Law Enforcement Bible and returning officers received a devotional or tactical flashlight. Many generous TCS parents contributed toward the gifts and breakfast snacks for the officers. A new addition this year… Pastor Bill Page, board member and alumni parent, set up a booth where he sat and offered to pray with the officers before they left our campus. Many officers took him up on the opportunity. Law Enforcement Day is a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation to those who serve and sacrifice to protect us and to remind our students that we are to show respect and submit to governing authorities as God’s Word instructs us to do. We know from Romans 13:1 that all authority comes from God, and God has placed them in their positions of authority. The TCS community is deeply grateful for every officer who serves to protect our school and our families in the towns where they reside. Our school will continue to pray for their protection.
