Thanks be to God for the generosity of the Timothy Christian School community and friends who came together and broke the record for raising funds on Giving Tuesday 2022!
On Tuesday, November 29, the school day began with lots of excitement as gifts were already coming in and Timothy the Tiger was greeting families at the doors!
The first $20,000 came in by noon that day with the encouragement of a $20,000 matching gift from the TCS Board. As the giving thermometer reached the mid-forties in the early afternoon, the excitement grew. Other generous donors offered to match gifts given for the faculty & staff up to $14,000 and gifts given toward STEM up to $5,000. One alumnus said, “I was so excited to give, especially knowing that my gift for STEM would be doubled!”
An alumni matching gift of $7,000 inspired other alumni to give, including one of our most recent graduates from the class of 2021! “It is especially encouraging to see alumni giving back,” said Head of School, Dr. Smock.
As the school day ended, the Cheerleaders cheered during elementary carline and some of our generous parents handed the Tiger more donations.
The greatest excitement for our current students and parents came around 10pm when we reached our $75,000 goal and won a “day off” of school on December 22! Donations continued to pour in late into the evening and in the days that followed. Cash, check, and online gifts brought the Giving Tuesday total to $104,081!
Two drawings, one for all those who shared the campaign with friends who donated and one for all alumni who gave, were held. Current parent, Lotus Turenne and alumnus, Jonathan Susanj were our winners of a $100 Amazon gift card.
Donors for the Giving Tuesday campaign included board members, faculty, staff, current parents, alumni parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends of Timothy Christian School. We are so grateful for every person who participated! We pray that God will bless them as they have blessed TCS!
