For the 4th consecutive athletic season one of our varsity programs has won a division championship. The TCS girls’ varsity volleyball team won the GMC Blue Division for the first time in program history! They were 9-1 in divisional play and represented our school with character and class evidenced by them winning the GMC Blue Division Team Sportsmanship Award. In continuing our theme of making history, the volleyball team also advanced to the second round of the county tournament and to the second round of the state tournament for the first time in school history! Congratulations to our coaches and players for an outstanding, historical season!

The volleyball team is very excited to have won the division this year. “We’re the first team in Timothy to be the division champs. That’s so cool!” said junior Aliyah Hobbs, one of our four 1st Team All GMC Blue Division players. Our other All Division 1st Team members include senior Hailee Medina, sophomore Holly Medina, and freshman Emma Pratt.

The girls shared that volleyball is a great outlet for them to let out steam and bond with their peers. One of their favorite parts of the season was Senior night. This year the team had 8 seniors. Families and friends packed the bleachers to celebrate the accomplishments of their senior girls. It was a fun night filled with TCS spirit!

This year the coaching staff included Josiah Panza, Alison Rabideau, TCS alumna 2012, and Rachel Mendalski, TCS alumna 2021. Talking with the coaches, they expressed how proud they are of the year they had and what the girls have accomplished.

“It’s been a great season. The team and the girls are so awesome in so many ways and its cool to see them grow within the season and over the years as well. I’m just remembering coaching some of them their freshman year and now they’re seniors! It’s exciting to watch them grow as volleyball players, as students, and as spiritual leaders”, Coach Rabideau stated.

“Overall, the season was the most successful season we had; we never went undefeated 8-0 before! Winning the division for the first time is a huge accomplishment to get our names not only on the banner, but also help to put TCS Volleyball on the map. It was an amazing season; the girls worked hard. “We know next year we can come out fighting to reclaim our title,” said Coach Panza.

When asked what made the difference in clinching the division title this year, Coach Rabideau said, “The dynamic of the group. They’re able to encourage each other or give each other constructive criticism while on the court, just working together to try and improve and make things happen. They worked pretty well as a team this year and that’s really what made the difference for us.”

Congratulations to the Volleyball team and coaching staff on a season well played and a job well done!
