We have two great themes for our 2022-2023 school year! The themes are weaved throughout the daily instruction, chapels, discipleship group, even decorations!
Our elementary school theme is that God always keeps His promises. This is represented by the rainbow He put in the sky after He told Noah that He would never flood the whole earth again. The verse this year that coincides with this theme is from Genesis 9:13 “I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” You will see rainbows throughout the elementary buildings as you walk through the hallways to remind us of God’s promises!
Our Elementary Principal Kristi McInerney says, “Each year God gives me the theme for the upcoming school year. Last year, as I would go through hard things, God kept using the rainbow as a source of encouragement and a reminder to me of His faithfulness to me in my own life. I thought it would be a blessing for our students to know with all their heart that God always keeps His promises. We have a covenant keeping God!”.
Our middle school and high school theme is “Are You Ready?”. The student’s will be memorizing “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect;” from I Peter 3:15.
This summer the high school students read the book Miracle of Miracles by Mina Nevisa. They will each write an essay answering questions such as “Who has God put in your life to share your faith with? How will you begin doing that this month?” to begin their thinking on how they can be ready to share their faith. The high school students will dive further into this theme during the all high school retreat on September 12th-14th.
Throughout the year both middle school and high school will discuss how they can be ready to defend their faith in their Bible classes, discipleship groups and Wednesday chapels.
