We are so excited to have our Summer Quest program this year! Last year due to Covid-19 we were unable to host our program. This year we made some major changes to incorporate a theme and add an academically rich schedule mixed in with fun-filled field trips, daily devotions, water play Fridays, hands-on arts and crafts and STEM activities. Miss Rabideau and Miss Wilkinson, two of our very own alumni and current elementary teachers, are doing an amazing job leading our campers!
The cafeteria is filled with fish, sea creatures, and waves to match our Ocean theme. The students have a time of daily reading and journaling about the new ocean animal each week. We kicked off the camp learning about Starfish, and have since added Penguins, Dolphins, and this week is Sea Turtles. Our field trips align with the animal we are teaching the students about. This past week, for example, the students went to the Turtle Back Zoo.
We have been so thankful to the Lord for the good weather we have had which allows for outside play time and PE daily with Mr. Decker. We are also grateful for the Covid-19 protocols we have in place to keep our kids safe and healthy. Students arrive on campus and get a temperature check and daily washing of hands is encouraged, especially after our PE class and before snack and lunch. God also provided an amazing group of high school seniors and recent graduates who have come alongside Miss Rabideau and Miss Wilkinson to help with the games, activities, and field trips. We have been so blessed with such an amazing staff.
Mrs. Hubler joined in the Summer Quest fun by creating a library nook for the students. We want our elementary students reading all summer long. She has provided an area filled with ocean and sea books and adds to it each week with the new theme. If you are excited to join our last 2 weeks of Summer Quest there are still a few openings available. We have our Whale Week and Shark Week coming up and the students are sure to have a Whale of a Time!
