The Timothy Christian School community came together on #GivingTuesday, December 1, and gave 244 gifts totaling $55,400 for our annual fund! There were more gifts given and more money raised on a single day than ever before in the history of TCS.
We are truly grateful for each parent, grandparent, alum, staff member, and friend of TCS who participated in this great day! Thanks to their participation and generosity, we exceeded our goal and all our challenges for the day were met which resulted in many fun rewards for our TCS community!
We knew we were off to a great start when we reached $10,000 by 10am which resulted in a matching $10,000 given by the Timothy Christian School Board!
Later in the day, alumni parents gave $5,000 as a match for $5,000 that was given during our “Power Lunch Hour!”
Things slowed down in the late afternoon but picked up again in the early evening when the last challenge was announced: “Christmas comes early! When we reach the goal of $50,000, all TCS students and staff will get the day off on December 23!”
72 people took on the challenge of sharing the campaign page with others. Alyssa Palma, one of our elementary teachers, led the way with 63 visitors coming to the site because she shared it! All those who shared the campaign with four or more people who visited the site were entered into a drawing to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Winners of the three drawings were: Karen Gottshall (Parents, Grandparents and Friends winner), Ricky Lyons, ’05 (Alumni winner), and Amy Delmanto (Staff winner).
Our students reaped some rewards as well, including a Chick-fil-A lunch for 5th grade, ice cream for all elementary students, a free homework pass for MS & HS students, a dress down day for K4-12, and most exciting, a day off of school for all on December 23!
It was a joy to see many people post messages and pictures on our “Honor Wall” on the website as they gave ‘in honor of,’ in support of,’ or ‘in memory of someone’ they love.
As we told the TCS community, “We could not do what we do without YOU!”
It is our donors who make teaching, coaching, mentoring and discipling our students possible! We are thankful to all our TCS family and friends who support our mission: to partner with the Christian home and church, to provide the finest Christ-centered education, to equip our students to live productive, God-glorifying lives. Our annual fund goes directly to fulfilling that mission!
It is our donors’ generosity and compassion that enable us to continue to improve our school so that we can be even more effective in growing the academic and spiritual lives of our students. We are replacing our entire technology infrastructure to serve our Bring Your Own Device initiative. Our faculty are creating curriculum maps to ensure the optimum use of our instruction time. We are improving our present facilities as well as researching what the future may hold for our campus needs in the years to come. We are not stopping in the midst of the pandemic, but rather, we are pressing on and preparing for an exciting future!
We thank the Lord for this great day of giving and for each person who gave!
