Walk into the Timothy Christian School gymnasium on a cold winter night and you’ll find a special group of Tigers working hard behind the baseline of basketball court to generate school spirit. The Timothy Christian School cheerleaders are an underestimated part of the great atmosphere each winter during home basketball games and this year’s squad was no exception. Consistently leading the crowds and supporting the teams, this year’s cheer squad played their part at 24 varsity home basketball games.
It is a unique life when one puts on a uniform, spends an hour and a half yelling at the top of one’s lungs, performs choreographed movements in front of bleachers full of people, and can still be an afterthought but such is the burden that cheerleaders bear. The cheer squad of 2014-15 exemplified the true meaning of ‘servant’s heart’ as they selflessly committed to generating school spirit behind the baseline and, many times, behind the scenes.
