Friday, February 27 was a special day as the campus of Timothy Christian School welcomed back alumni to present the success in their chosen professions to current high school students. The Alumni Career Day event provided valuable insight and wisdom from the perspective of professionals who used to walk the very same hallways of current students.
Thirteen alumni, spanning the last 3 decades of Timothy Christian School graduates, traveled from 7 different states from as far as MO and NH. Laura McKay (’85), Timothy Christian School’s Director of Student Life, introduced each of the alumni to high school student body in a special chapel. Each alum shared a few minutes about themselves, memories of being a student as well as wisdom and encouragement. The room burst into a warm applause when Miss McKay pointed out that everyone in the room (high school students and alumni from 1982 through now) had all had spent time under the guidance of Mr. Bills, Mrs. Bills, and Ms. Storsberg.
The Alumni Career Day Event continued with three 20 minute break out sessions in which each alum gave a presentation and interacted personally with a small group of students who had pre-selected to hear about that particular career. The students commented that hearing from the alumni helped them think about their future, opened their eyes to new ideas and was a great opportunity to learn valuable tips that will help lead them on the path to the career God has for each of them. The Alumni Career Day at Timothy Christian School brought together Tigers, young and old, and all were better because of it.
