Over the past few years, TCS athletics has grown by leaps and bounds. Whether it’s the implementation of strength training for its athletes, the expansion of Jr Tiger elementary sports, or the move into the Greater Middlesex Conference TCS athletics does not stay still.
This past weekend was case and point as TCS hosted it’s own Spring Tournament featuring varsity baseball and varsity softball teams from around the state. Veritas Academy, Cumberland Christian School, and Calvary Christian Academy all joined TCS for a weekend full of competition. The diamonds at TCS saw tremendous individual and team play from all eight teams involved. Saturday afternoon featured championship games in both softball and baseball between Veritas Academy and Timothy Christian. The softball championship went to Timothy Christian in an exciting and fast-paced match-up with the Lady Tigers taking home the first place trophy in a 13-10 victory. The baseball championship went all the way to the final out, with Timothy Christian striking out the final Veritas Academy batter to win 4-3. TCS’ starting pitchers, Jeff Parker and Meribeth Brookman took home MVP honors.
