In a typical year, a faculty arrives to its orientation prepared for policy review, administrative updates, and departmental meetings.
It is clear that is NOT a typical year at TCS.
TCS’ interim superintendent, Dr. Hubert Hartzler, has an extensive background in graduate school teaching and his passion for educating educators was clear during orienation. The faculty attended multiple sessions focusing on philosophy of Christian education as well as on methodology of education. While the necessity of policy review and department meetings will never change during an orientation, this year’s TCS faculty orientation went to new depths as Dr Hartzler challenged, inspired, and educated TCS’ educators.
It doesn’t appear that it’s going to be a typical year at TCS. It does appear that’s a good thing.
