TCS faculty and staff extend a warm welcome to new families and a huge welcome back to returning families! We love this time of year and have spent all summer preparing for you. When you enter campus this week you may notice some changes; from the look of our facilities, to our crisp new uniforms and of course the new faces that will be there to greet you.
Here are some of the highlights.
Timothy welcomes the following new faculty.
- Shalen Bishop, Middle School Principal
- Miss Bethany Lambertson, K4 Teacher
- Miss Alison Rabideau, Kindergarten Teacher
- Betty Toussaint, K-8 Art Teacher
- Miss Amelia Ray, K4-12 Choral Music Teacher
- Miss Rebecca Price, High School English Teacher
- Miss Claire Lingenfelter, High School Spanish Teacher
- Christina Niedzielski, 6-12 Guidance
- Michael Alape, Business Manager
- Harold Hubler, Maintenance
- Danielle Woodruffe, Social Media and Content Manager
There have been some changes with returning faculty as well, Miss Miriam Hartzler is now High School Principal and Bill Bills returns to the role of Athletic Director after a decade. While still serving in the TCS administration, Miss Laura McKay will also be taking on four high school science classes. It’s a position she held nearly ten years ago.
Over the summer TCS received word that it had been awarded a $75,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to improve security around campus. The gym and building 1 are the first of 47 doors that will all eventually have security cameras.
The gym roof, which was built in 1989, has been restored. The metal roof was beginning to rust which could have extended to the roof panels. It’s now in good shape. We are grateful to the Lord for His provision, that the restoration could take place over the summer and that the gym could be in full use this school year!
Also, around campus you may notice a smoother drive in the drop off area in front of buildings 5 and 6 as repaving took place. New carpet is down in the main entryway of building one, and some classrooms have a crisp coat of paint. In addition, the high school computer lab has been upgraded with all fifteen of its computers replaced.
Yet nothing beats the clean, crisp, new uniforms that our students will be sporting this year. One of the biggest changes is simplicity in colors – maroon is no longer an option and the Timothy logo is now on every uniform. Tigers can wear it proudly on and off campus!
Our social media is also more streamlined as you can follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram all at followtcsnj. Please like/follow us if you haven’t yet. We will continue to share important updates and fun pictures during the school year. You can also share your pics at photos@timothychristian.org.
We pray for wisdom and strength and the Lord’s blessing on our faculty, staff, students and the entire TCS family as we dedicate this school year to Him who is able to provide abundantly more than we could ever hope or ask!
