Six years ago, Zac Csorny gave up his soccer career to focus on basketball. Zac played AAU basketball, freshmen, and JV basketball at West Mendham Morris High School. West Mendham Morris High School is a long way from TCS’ Piscataway location. However, through an AAU teammate who happenend to attend TCS, the Csorny family looked into enrolling Zac for his senior year. Quickly, Zac was accepted and became part of the TCS family. In just a few short days on campus in early September, Zac got the itch to play the sport that he had dropped six years prior. What a great decision it ended up being for Zac and for TCS soccer. Zac quickly became one the boys soccer team’s biggest offensive threats and the rust on his soccer skills quickly fell away. Just as Zac was settling into his new role on the TCS soccer team, he broke his nose in a tough game against South Plainfield High School. And that’s wear the mask comes in. Zach went through an emergency room visit, an outpatient surgery to have his nose reset, and multiple visits to have a special mask formed so that he could rejoin the team. Despite the ‘wild goose chase’ to get Zac back onto the field, it was well worth it as Zac helped the TCS boys soccer team to its first ever win in the NJSIAA state tournament! With the soccer season now completed, Zac has his sights and mask set on the upcoming basketball season.
