At Timothy Christian School, our yearly chapel themes help guide our students spiritually, giving them a foundation to grow in their faith and apply biblical truth to their daily lives. This year, both the elementary and middle/high school divisions launched their new themes with excitement and purpose!

Elementary: FLY – Faithful, Loving, Yielding

In chapel on September 10th, Mrs. McInerney introduced the elementary theme: FLY – Faithful, Loving, Yielding, based on 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”

She encouraged students with the story of Daniel, reminding them how he remained faithful to God in the midst of challenges. Visual reminders of the FLY theme can be seen throughout the school, with butterflies filling the hallways and classrooms, keeping the message front and center.

Already, several chapel speakers have reinforced the theme for our youngest students. On September 17th, Student Support Specialist, Mrs. Saenz, highlighted biblical heroes of faith such as Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel, David, Ruth, and Esther. She demonstrated how God is always faithful, no matter what difficulties we face. The following week, our school nurse, Mrs. Miller, encouraged students to be loving and live out kindness, sharing from Ephesians 4:32 and calling students to “be kind to one another.”

Through stories, lessons, and encouragement, our elementary students are learning that to truly FLY means to faithfully follow God, love others, and yield to His will.

Middle & High School: Seek His Presence

For our middle and high school students, this year’s theme is Seek His Presence, rooted in Jeremiah 29:13: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

As Dean Rodriguez shared with families, this theme is a call for our school community to lean in with intentionality and wholehearted devotion. Throughout the year, students will be encouraged to:

  • SEEK God intentionally through prayer, worship, and daily dependence.
  • EXPLORE His Word with hunger by diving deeper into Scripture.
  • ENCOURAGE others frequently by lifting up classmates and peers in love.
  • KNOW His truth more deeply by standing firmly on God’s promises.

A new initiative, House Challenges, will bring this theme to life in a fun and interactive way. Each month, homerooms will participate in discipleship challenges connected to the chapel focus, encouraging students to live out what they’re learning. These friendly competitions will not only build community but also provide practical opportunities to apply biblical truths in everyday life.

Whether it’s learning to FLY in elementary or seeking God’s presence in middle and high school, this year’s chapel themes remind us that spiritual growth is at the heart of everything we do at Timothy Christian School. We invite families to join us in prayer for our students, that they would grow in faith, love God’s Word, and live boldly for Christ. Together, as one school community, we are excited to see how God will work in the lives of our students this year!
