Who is your hero? Webster defines hero as “a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Elementary students at Timothy Christian School were recently given the opportunity to choose a man or woman who is admired not only for their outstanding achievements, but also for their Christian character.
After selecting their Christian hero, students did research and wrote up important facts, qualities and outstanding achievements that their hero accomplished. They also selected a Bible verse that embodied how their hero lived. Mrs. McInerney worked with the students to practice their talk before formally presenting in the annual Christian Hero Day Chapel.
This year there was such an overwhelming response of students who wanted to participate in Christian Hero Day that there were two dates for presenting. Dressed up as their hero, students formally presented either on November 6th or November 13th. Adults and students in the audience learned new things about these amazing Christian men and women heroes! The students who presented did an excellent job! Mrs. McInerney was so very proud of all her students.
