If you looked around the TCS gymnasium on Grandparents Day, you would see the room filled with over 200 smiling Grandparents excited to see their grandchildren at school. If you looked again, you would notice the students stationed at each table, helping the grandparents to their seats, delivering coffee, taking pictures, and chatting with the grandparents. You would see the students greeting each person at the door, welcoming them to enjoy the special day. These students you would see are our TCS Student Ambassadors.
Our Student Ambassadors are high school students who have been recommended by their teachers as students who have outstanding character. The criteria the students must meet includes:
- Love for the Lord and a heart to follow Him
- Love for Timothy Christian School
- Ability to express themselves well verbally in front of people
- Actively involved in the life of the school
They are respectful, responsible, and exhibit excellence in all they do. Through the Student Ambassador program, the students have an opportunity to learn servant leadership. They are an integral part of helping our biggest events run smoothly!
During Preview Days where prospective families can visit campus, student ambassadors greet new families as they arrive, help with registration and check in, give tours, and share their personal stories of why they love TCS. We even have middle school Jr. Student Ambassadors, who are training to one day be high school Student Ambassadors, participate in the day.
On our last November 4th Preview Day, we had a record high for fall attendance! One prospective parent stated, “This is a very spiritually filled environment and the Christian faith is woven into the curriculum. Our tour guide was incredible!” We are thankful for the Student Ambassadors who took their time on a Saturday to invest in the lives of future TCS families!
Many Student Ambassadors are also involved in planning other events as well. All of the Student Ambassadors on Student Council helped plan all of the activities and games for Riot Night and Spirit Week. This year their creativity and organizational skills made the week a great success! Classic Riot Night games like tug of war and human croquet went off without a hitch as well as Spirit Week favorites such as the eating competition that was brought back this year. Much prior planning goes into ensuring that the games are fun and fair for all! Congratulations again to the Class of 2024 who pulled off a senior year win!
One of our student ambassadors, Gabby Williams, is current president of the service club on campus called Recycle4Hope, in connection with a nonprofit organization one of our alumni founded. Many Student Ambassadors are members of the club. All month they have been planning a Christmas Festival for TCS families and community members that will take place on December 2nd from 3-5pm in the TCS gym. All are welcome to come join in on the Christmas fun!
Students like the ones in our Student Ambassador program are a testimony to how God can use students to impacts the lives of many. We are blessed to have the opportunity to train these students to be godly servant leaders in our school and the community!
