Learn more from Mrs. Arnold about why she came to TCS and how she is shaping young lives.  Timothy Christian School is blessed to have Amy Arnold as our fourth-grade teacher this year.  Amy graduated with high honors from Kean University in New Jersey.  She holds a certificate for teaching the handicapped as well as TESOL and is looking forward to pursuing her master’s degree in elementary education.  She taught for four years prior to starting her own family, then homeschooled her children which prepared her the next phase of her journey.

What/Who inspired you to take up teaching?

It was the students who inspired me to go into teaching.  I also felt called to the profession and the Lord has confirmed that calling over and over again ever since.

Why did you choose to teach at TCS?

The short answer is that the Holy Spirit led us here. My children started to indicate a desire to see their friends more often and take part in school activities, and the Lord really put it on my heart to get back to the classroom.

How are you integrating faith and learning as you teach at TCS?

As the Lord tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” I try to lean heavily on this truth and rely on the Holy Spirit to give me the words to speak in the classroom that might ultimately focus little hearts on Him.

In what ways do you want to prepare students for life beyond TCS?

I try to help my students to develop a good work ethic in academics that will carry over to their college years and beyond. But I also stress to them that the most important thing that they can learn at TCS is to love the Lord.

Anything you would like to share about your experience at TCS thus far?

TCS is a place where my children can learn and grow in the Lord, and where I pray that I have a godly influence on my students every day.
