The TCS 2020-2021 School Year Has Begun!
I am so glad to see students back in the seats! It has been almost six months since we had live, in-person classes at TCS. Seeing half of their smiling faces was such an encouragement to me this week. Of course, the other half of their faces are hidden by a face covering, but you can tell they are smiling from ear to ear! After all, they have missed their friends and teachers, so the reunion has been wonderful!
After months of planning, our COVID-19 re-opening plans are in place and active from temperature checks upon arrival to wearing masks, classrooms rearranged for social distancing, cleaning and more. I am so appreciative of all our faculty and staff, especially with their desire to go the extra mile in cleaning, disinfecting our classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, and gym, on top of their normal academic preparations. With desks being wiped down several times a day, using appropriate disinfectants, and a lot of other steps we take daily, we have made our school a safe and secure facility.
I am also thankful for our parents who are doing their part to keep our campus safe. They have done a wonderful job preparing and equipping their children for this year and graciously dropping off and picking up outside the buildings. Volunteering and working together with our parents has always been part of our culture in the TCS community. The COVID-19 guidance has changed that a bit, expecting us to minimize the number of adults coming into our school. I am so grateful that our parents understand that these precautions are only for a time, and we hope to return soon to our normal Timothy Christian School community.
Please join us in praying for the continued safety and good health for all in our TCS community! We look forward to partnering with you for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year!
