What is one word that best describes Timothy Christian School? Why?
The word that best describes Timothy is COMMUNITY. The school is definitely its own little community. I think the fact that we are a small school adds to this sense. I love this community that has been built because everyone knows each other. Whenever I walk around campus, at least two or three faculty members will say hi to me and ask how my family is. Even within the student body there is a friendly atmosphere.
Describe one of your favorite teachers and the impact that this person has in your life.
Mrs. Brookman is one of my favorite teachers at Timothy. I love her because not only is she a Timothy icon, being here even before I came 12 years ago and having taught me at such a young age, but she is also an amazing person to have a conversation with just about life. When you are feeling down, she is always able to pick up on it and can always provide a piece of advise and her prayers to comfort you.
How are faith and learning integrated at TCS?
Faith is well integrated into the education at Timothy. Whenever there is an opportunity they incorporate the Lord and His creation into the lesson. In our history classes, we converse about human nature. In our math and science classes, we talk about God’s wonderful and intricate creation with its many details. In our Bible classes, we are provided a great environment to have philosophical discussions around God and His word, especially in the high school.
