christmas carol mccarter theatre300Reading “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens is part of the 7th grade Literature curriculum at Timothy Christian School. The students enjoy reading the wonderful classic novel about compassion, redemption and forgiveness as it reminds them that there is always an opportunity to change and to help others. As Christians, students are challenged to be readily available to help others in need and to forgive.  Dickens’ story also reminds readers of God’s grace and redemption and power to change man’s heart . After students had thoroughly read about, written about, and discussed the novel, they attended the production of “A Christmas Carol” at the McCarter Theater on December 11th.  Students were challenged to make comparisons between the portrayal of the story at McCarter Theater and the classic novel. The student experience reaffirmed what is written Ephesians 1: 7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” The student experience also reaffirmed Tiny Tim’s famous words on the final pages of “A Christmas Carol’. ‘God bless us, everyone!’
