2014 Has rolled in and brought with it a tremendous amount of success for TCS Athletics! Check out what has transpired in the first few weeks of the new year…
-On January 4th, the athletic department celebrated Coach Bills at the ‘1000 Win Celebration and Dinner.’ Over 300 people attended the event to reflect on Coach Bills and his 39 years of coaching ministry here at TCS. Check out the video highlights of the ceremony here.
-January 10th brought another coaching milestone as Coach Miriam Hartzler won her 100th varsity girls basketball game when her varsity girls basketball team defeated Piscataway Tech. Check out the team’s celebration of Coach Hartzler here.
-On January 11th, The middle school girls’ basketball team won TCS’ Middle School Invitational Tournament championship for the 2nd time in 4 years. The middle school boys’ basketball team claimed its first championship in the 4 years of the tournament’s history and with it marked the first time that both teams claimed the championship on the same day! – David Figueroa was recognized as 2nd team all-state at the SCANJ Banquet in Edison on January 12th. David is TCS’ first all-state athlete in any sport! See the pics of the banquet here.
– January 25th saw a double-dip of success as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball team hosted and defeated Piscataway High School. It is unofficially on the 2nd or 3rd time in GMC history that a Gold division team (small schools) has been victorious over a Red division team (largest schools). In the process the varsity boys also earned Coach Hobbs’ 100th varsity basketball victory at Timothy Christian School. Check out the article on the victory and milestone here.
