Kristopher Samuel currently resides in Williamsburg, Virginia. After graduating from TCS in 2014 he attended Liberty University where he studied Sales, Distribution, and Marketing Operations. He then completed his master’s degree at James Madison University in Communication and Advocacy.
Kris was very involved in the debate team here at TCS under the tutelage of Mr. Jonathan Barr and Mr. Eddie Fitzgerald. He feels that TCS prepared him for college and beyond by the debate program teaching him how to research and have a good work ethic. During high school he won a speaker award as a novice. His favorite memories at TCS were going on debate trips and bonding with alumni debaters.
He went on to continue to achieve great debate success. While on the debate team at Liberty his JV team received first place at the University American Debate Association National Tournament. On the varsity team he qualified for the National Debate Tournament in 2018 and 2019. He even received the Director’s Award at Liberty University for “Dedicating four years of [his] life to the Liberty Debate team and leaving behind a stronger team than [he] inherited.” He was also a communications professor and the assistant debate coach of the Varsity Debate Team at James Madison University.
Currently, Kris is working in sales at a startup company based out of Washington, DC and a Youth Director at Eastside Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. He hopes to one day move towards more non-profit work. He says, “I’m most proud of the fact that I’m learning more and more about what it means to be a servant and I’m grateful that God has given me the opportunity to serve kids.” He felt that he had many solid male figures as role models at TCS and believes this was important to him becoming a better man seeking God.
Reminiscing on his experience here at Timothy he spoke about how the teachers always took the time to connect and build relationships with their students. He is still in contact with many friends from his days at TCS and enjoys spending time with them talking about topics of the faith or just remembering great times spent together in high school.
