This winter TCS celebrates musical success as two students achieved a remarkable goal.

Grace Ng (trombone) and Luke Tan (multiple percussion/mallets) of our middle school band program auditioned for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Intermediate Band. Nearly 800 students auditioned from all over the Central Jersey area. Grace and Luke both made it into the CJMEA Wind Ensemble, which is the top performance group. The audition included memorized scales, a prepared solo and sight reading.

“I am very thankful for all my teachers who put up with all my mistakes in the audition process,” says Grace Ng. “I’m thankful to God and my family for giving me the opportunity to audition.”

“It has taken a lot of hard work but I am thankful to God, my parents and teachers for helping me through the audition process,” added Tan.

The select group has been rehearsing throughout the month of February in preparation for their concert at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School on Sunday, March 3 beginning at 3:00pm.

Come on out for an exciting afternoon of great music from our area’s (and TCS’s) finest!
