Kevin Anselmo is a TCS alumnus from the class of 1995 and the author of the newly published book, Reframing Career Success, which helps readers think about the significance of their work from a Christian perspective.

Kevin hopes that the book will help readers to:

1.   Find peace knowing God is in control in the midst of professional ups and downs

2.   Overcome career idealism

3.   Appreciate how Jesus’ death and resurrection connects to one’s work

4.   Craft a definition of Christian career successAdopt practices tied to this definition

More information on Kevin’s book is available at the Reframing Career Success website.

After graduating from Taylor University , Kevin lived and worked in Europe (Switzerland and Germany) for 10 years, in various corporate communications roles. He relocated back to the States in 2011, first to North Carolina where he worked at Duke University and then later to Florida where he opened his own company.

Today, Kevin resides in Sarasota, FL with his wife and two boys and is the owner of a marketing and communications consulting company called Experiential Communications. He helps his clients communicate their ideas and messages through teaching communications workshops and devising communication strategies.

We are excited that Kevin will be one of our presenters for alumni career day on February 24 when several alumni from a variety of careers will be sharing with our high school students about the journey God has led them on after Timothy and where they are today.

Learn more from Kevin about his experience at Timothy Christian School.

What is one word that best describes the school? Why?

Community. Being a small school, you are able to form close relationships with teachers and students. The community is anchored around the Christian faith.

Describe one of your favorite memories of TCS.

Playing basketball. The experience of being part of a team and the camaraderie that is built with teammates is something that I will always cherish. I believe sports is a terrific training ground for life and work. You need to learn to set goals. You have to remain humble in victory and not get too down in defeat. You have to work together as a team. These are all characteristics that relate to life.

In what ways did TCS prepare you for college and beyond?

Timothy helped instill in me important values. Obviously over the course of one’s life, one’s views change and evolve. While I have gone through different seasons of life, I am thankful that my faith in Christ has been a constant. This is thanks to my education at Timothy, other aspects of my upbringing, my different life experiences as an adult and most importantly God’s grace.

What would you tell a friend to encourage them to send their child to TCS?

I didn’t realize this as a young adult, but now as a father to 2 boys ages 8 and 10, I see just how important it is for young people to have the right environment, role models and peer groups. I was surrounded by such positive influences at Timothy.
