Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

We are so grateful that this class had the opportunity to attend their senior year at Timothy in person!  While the year began with many restrictions in place, they were still able to have in-person classes with their teachers and classmates.  As the year ended and restrictions lightened, the class of 2021 was blessed to be able to experience the joy of Riot Night as well as many year-end traditions including the Junior/Senior Fair, the Junior/Senior Formal and graduation- all in person!

Rachel George, salutatorian of the class, reflected on some lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic and shared her favorite verse, Deuteronomy 31:6 “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Rachel challenged her class to “Remember that the God who created the universe is always with you, wanting the best for you, and say tough times do come and mistakes are made in life, keep yourself open to the opportunity for God to teach you something and for you to learn from them.”

As Valedictorian, Zachary Lihn, shared at graduation, “today is both the end and the beginning.”  High school has ended and in just a few weeks, for most, college will begin.

Where will the class of 2021 begin next? As Zach begins at Columbia University, his classmates will head to a variety of schools near and far including Rutgers University, Liberty University, Case Western University, Stony Brook University, Indiana University, Carnegie Melon, Santa Clara University, Northeastern University, Penn State, Iowa State, Villanova, and St. John’s University to name a few.

Academically the class did well as many will be exempt from several of their college courses because of the AP classes or dual-enrollment classes that they took at TCS. Many of our graduates were awarded substantial scholarships.

Whether attending a secular or Christian college, all will be armed with the spiritual foundation that they have developed at Timothy through Bible and world-view classes, chapel, mission trips, debate and athletic teams, class retreats, and the mentorship of staff.

The TCS faculty and staff wish all the best to the class of 2021. We pray that the Lord will protect them and guide them as they embark on this next step of their journey.
