Rutgers Half MarathonTimothy Christian School has been a proud member of the Central New Jersey community for 65 years. The leadership of the school has encouraged and planned multiple avenues of service for the student body over the years. Students have served the needy at the New York City Relief mission, ministered to the elderly at Cedar Oaks Nursing Home, and recently packed boxes of food at the Feed the Need initiative. The athletic department’s move into the Greater Middlesex Conference 5 years ago allowed our coaches and student-athletes to partner with and contribute to the athletic experience of interscholastic athletics in the county.

Community involvement went to a new level this weekend as four of Timothy Christian School’s faculty members ran in the Rutgers Unite Half Marathon. Jon Mindrebo (Business Manager), Joni Calderwood (Director of Curriculum & Instruction), Jen Hobbs (K4 teacher), and Kim Breiner (2nd grade teacher) began their training months prior to the event and competed in gorgeous spring weather on the morning of Sunday, April 12th. 6,000 runners gathered at the athletic complex of Rutgers University in Piscataway and raced their way to the College Avenue campus of New Brunswick. The faculty members’ commitment to themselves, their fitness, and their community paid off as they all finished the half marathon with smiles on their faces. Timothy Christian School is intent on training young people to go out into the world and have an impact for Christ, and the faculty are leading in the classroom and on the streets.
