Computer Programming in Denver300The weekend of May 24th – 25th presented an out-of-state opportunity as four Timothy Christian School students traveled to Denver and competed in the season-ending 2014 ACSL All-Star Contest. Of the 80 schools invited, Timothy Christian was one of three schools from New Jersey and certainly the smallest of those three schools. The contest consisted of a team programming section during which students were allowed three and a half hours to solve four challenging problems and a one hour individual short-answer test. Coming into the tournament at 25th, the team jumped nine spots and finished the season 16th as senior, Tiffany Fong, received recognition for the second straight year. With three juniors, all of whom had never competed at the contest prior to this year, things are looking up for the programming team as they hope to reach the all-star contest again in the 2014-2015 school year. The four members of TCS’ computer programming team once again proved the pound for pound and student for student, Timothy Christian School of Piscataway can hold its own….even in the Rocky Mountains.
